Sign Me Activity and Name Sculpture Exhibition
A. Sign Me Activity:
Large white sculptures (16 pieces, each 2m high and 1 piece, 4m high) will be placed where it is crowded, thereby inviting viewers to sign their names on the object. This has a dual role of being a show piece and providing a surface for signing. At the end of the show, these sculptures will be brought back to the studio by the artist. They will then be painted with a translucent and multicolor protective coating and become sculptures embedded with collective memory.
B. Name Sculpture Archive：
Photos taken during the Sign Me activity and exhibition of Alixe Fu’s artwork, as well as video recordings taken for documentary purpose, will be made available online using Web 2.0 technology. This platform will also provide various sketches and graphical models and show Alixe Fu’s artwork. It will allow people from all over the world to see these visual arts and prompt them to leave feedbacks with their own reflection and interpretation. As such, this project lives on in the cyberspace, unconstrained by time and space.
